Ballroom Dancing Class
at the American University in Paris

[Mercurykin]
This is the (historic) Web page of the ballroom dancing class at the American University of Paris in Winter 2016.

When and where is this going to happen?

The class takes place on Wednesdays 18:30-20:00 at the American University in Paris, room C104.

The class starts on the 21st of September, and takes place for 10 sessions. The cost is 40€ per person for the entire semester.

You have to be registered for the course with the sports office of the university to participate in this class!

What is Ballroom dancing?

Ballroom dancing (danse de salon) is the kind of dance they do at weddings and balls; for example Walz, Chacha and Tango (check them out on Youtube!). These are dances that you dance as a couple (girl + guy). We might also have a session on Salsa, but this is not the main focus of the course.

Why should I learn ballroom dancing?

Because it's fun, it's part of culture and it's also a good excuse for not working.

What is the level of the course?

The course is for total beginners with no experience in ballroom dancing. More advanced dancers are welcome as well, of course.

What dances will you teach?

We aim to cover most Standard and Latin ballroom dances, i.e., Walz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese Walz, Rumba, Chacha, Jive and Samba (international style). In addition, we will cover some of the so-called nightclub dances Discofox/Hustle, Argentine Tango and Bachata. You will also learn the more professional aspects of dancing, such as posture, style and leading.

How can I sign up?
